Meredith Serota, B.A.; M.S. (ESE); RBT; ITDS

Meredith Serota is a Behavioral Therapist with extensive experience in a variety of academic and clinical based settings. She has spent the last decade working as an Early Childhood Educator. In addition, she is an Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist under the Florida Early Steps program.

Students and their parents have benefited from working with Meredith’s unique approach which fuses social-emotional development with academics. Her principal focus is on helping children learn to self-regulate and navigate age-appropriate challenges. Meredith prides herself on an individualized approach to treatment and does not believe in a standard, one-size-fits all style of teaching. Instead, she tailors her work to fit each child’s and family’s unique needs. In addition, Meredith utilizes various hands-on art and creative experiences to teach social skills, mindfulness, behavior management and academics.

Meredith offers one-on-one therapeutic services utilizing ABA practices and other multi-disciplinary techniques including sensory play and art. Meredith conducts sessions within the home or school environments in addition to the Children’s Center. She develops behavior plans that can be implemented by parents, teachers and other caregivers to support a child’s social-emotional and behavioral needs across a variety of settings. She also offers school-based advocacy services for families to help navigate the IEP and 504 plan process.

Meredith, who was a lawyer before becoming an educator, earned a Master’s of Science in Exceptional Student Education from Nova Southeastern University. Her degree specialization and related practicum experience focused on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Disorders as well as a variety of other Emotional/Behavioral Disorders.
