Adam Demner, MD, is a dually board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in Addiction Psychiatry. Background
Dr. Demner studied neuroscience at the University of Florida, graduating magna cum laude. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his psychiatry residency at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident, where he received extensive training in psychotherapy. He furthered his training with a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at New York University/Bellevue Hospital and continues to regularly lecture and mentor psychiatrists-in-training.
Dr. Demner has held leadership and teaching roles in academic medicine in Florida and New York City. His research has been published in both textbooks and peer-reviewed journals, ranging in topics cognitive-behavioral therapy, co-occurring disorders to the stigma surrounding mental illness. He currently sees patients in private practice and is licensed in both Florida and New York, providing in-person and/or telehealth services.
